Sandy for Model Number GTDL200GM0WW Dryer I bumped the start button and it just fell off. The part that it hooks onto must have fallen into the machine itself. Do I need another knob too or just get the part that it hooks to? I don't mind getting the kit. Is this something I can do myself? Thanks
Answer Hello Sandy, If the shaft that the knob slides onto is what came off, the switch WE4M412 itself will have to be replaced. This is not a difficult repair and as long as you remember to unplug the unit before beginning, you will have no problem replacing it. Remove the screws for the control panel from the rear and access the switch. Be sure to transfer the wires one at a time to prevent confusion in re-assembly. To remove the switch, lift the locking lever and rotate the switch. This will allow it to turn around and be removed. Installation of the new part is the same procedure reversed. Read More...
