The Control Knob and Clip is an OEM part for GE washing machines and dryers. It attaches directly to the control shaft and is used to set the machine's cycles and settings. This knob allows for easy adjustment of washing or drying operations, making it a user-friendly interface for managing the appliance's functions.

Symptoms of a bad Control Knob and Clip include:

  • The knob failing to engage the control shaft, resulting in no response when turned.
  • Cracks or breaks in the knob, making it difficult to grasp or turn.
  • The knob slipping or spinning freely without changing settings, indicating that the clip may be worn or broken.

Causes of a bad control knob and clip can include physical damage from excessive force, wear and tear from frequent use, or degradation of the materials due to age or environmental factors.

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Cliff, Grasp the knob and pull out/off the knob should "slip" off the timer or switch shaft and can be removed/replaced. In the event the knob is "stuck" you can use a small towel or rag, slip it around and between the control panel and knob, twist the rag a few times and pull out on the rag. Just don't over do the pulling action, and the new knob will slip onto the shaft, after you align the "D" shaft and knob, just push in on the knob. There's a "how to" video attached to the part number you supplied. Thanks,
