Robbie H. Am I correct in assuming that my love of bleach is responsible for my rusted out washer lid? Is there any way to prevent this?
Answer Robbie, Yes, your assumption is correct, 99% of rusted, damaged washer lids are due to bleach spillage. You may want to try using a measuring cup, and pour the bleach into the dispenser, slowly. At the end of the laundry day, use a wet paper towel and wipe down the dispenser and area, let the moisture evaporate and close the lid. Of course you have other options as well, powdered "oxygenated" bleach, or other similar products. But wiping down the area and dispenser will reduce the rusting process. Thanks Read More...
