B. Wolfe January 26, 2018 for Model Number GE WPRE6100G2WT I have a GE washing machine Model No. WPRE6100G2WT. I am replacing the washer lid. Do you have a Repair Video to R&R the "Lid Asm Finished-Serv" P/N: AP5789091 or for one similar? A few months ago when I checked into this I thought you had one. 1 Answer B. Wolfe, To remove the main top you would lift the lid and there will be 2 screws on either side that you remove and then slide the hinges out of the lid and install the new one in reverse. Read More...
Robbie H. July 09, 2016 Am I correct in assuming that my love of bleach is responsible for my rusted out washer lid? Is there any way to prevent this?
1 Answer Robbie, Yes, your assumption is correct, 99% of rusted, damaged washer lids are due to bleach spillage. You may want to try using a measuring cup, and pour the bleach into the dispenser, slowly. At the end of the laundry day, use a wet paper towel and wipe down the dispenser and area, let the moisture evaporate and close the lid. Of course you have other options as well, powdered "oxygenated" bleach, or other similar products. But wiping down the area and dispenser will reduce the rusting process. Thanks Read More...
