Gene I have a GE microwave oven model jvm1650wb002 that does not have power to heat. Everything else looks ok. I checked the fuse and it was ok. I replaced the HV diode but still no power but the noise has stopped when I turned the unit on. Is it the magnetron. Where is it located and how do I remove the magnetron.
Answer Gene, To access the Magnetron, you will need to pull the unit from installation and remove the outer cabinet. Once removed the magnetron will be a square silver box with fins inside it. Check to make sure that the magnet is not cracked or broken. Also check the resistance of the magnetron which should be approximately .5 ohms of resistance. Read More...
