Manufacturer Part Number: WR60X10209

The Condenser Fan Motor is an OEM part for GE refrigerators. This fan motor circulates air in the fridge, helping to cool the compressor and condenser coils for better temperature control. It also evaporates extra water in the drain pan, stopping problems from water buildup.

Symptoms of a failing condenser fan motor include:

  • The refrigerator running hotter than usual
  • Loud noise or rattling sounds coming from the back of the refrigerator
  • The refrigerator cycling on and off more frequently or for longer periods

Causes of condenser fan motor failure typically include wear and tear from continuous use, dust and debris accumulation obstructing fan movement, or electrical issues such as faulty wiring or capacitor problems.

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Note: This is a (12-volt DC) fan motor. For the (115-volt AC) fan motor, order part number WR60X10220.

Chad for Model Number PSS26MGPAWW

I replaced the control board because the compressor would come on intermittently and after inspecting the control board I noticed a burned spot on the board. After replacing the board, the compressor came on but the condenser fan did not, so I assumed that the fan was bad and immediately unplugged the refrigerator to avoid any damage to the new board, and ordered a new fan. I received the new fan, and it does not come on either. Again, I unplugged it within a few minutes. Isn't the condenser fan supposed to run all the time that the compressor is running?

Answer

Hello Chad, The condenser fan motor should run the entire time that the compressor runs. This is most likely either a harness issue or an issue with the main board WR55X10942C. Since the board has been replaced you should test for the voltage at th4e board and at the fan motor. If not at the fan motor but is present at the board, the issue will be the harness. If the voltage is not at the board either, the issue is the new board.
