John for Model Number PSS25MGNAWW During Hurricane Sandy I powered my house via a 3000w pure sine wave inverter conneced to (3) 12v deep cycle batteries in parallel for maximum runtime. the battery bank could be hooked up to my truck to keep the batteries charged. Anyway I had a Kill-a-watt monitoring device plugged into the refrigerator cord before the inverter powered it. The reading I received were, 135w when cooling and 585w when defrosting which is quite a draw on the batteries if the truck is not connected and running. What I would like to do is put a switch in the power feed side of the defrost heater lamp so I can turn it off if I have to power the refrigerator via the inverter again. I think I can do without defrost cycles until the power comes on for several days without effecting the refrigerator/freezers performance.Where does the current to the defrost heater come from, I cannot find a schematic for the electrical on my PSS25MGNAWW. I also changed sump pumps from a 9 Amp to a 3.8 Amp to lighten the load some more. Thanks!
