Nephtali for Model Number GSS25SGMD BS

I have a GE refrigerator model GSS25SGMD BS. Everything was working fine until I changed the Smartwater filter with an OEM replacement. No water when pressing the dispenser. Even when the old filter was installed again, still no water was dispensed. Also, I noticed a leaking in the water filter head assembly (where the filter is installed). The filter head assembly have a black notch that is leaking. I shut off the water supply from the house to the fridge to stop the dripping of the head assembly. Should the water filter head be replaced?

Answer

Nephtali, The water filter head would need to be replaced due to the leaking. For the dispenser door not dispensing water you will want to pull the lower grill on the refrigerator and disconnect the lines. Press the dispenser with set to water and see if water comes out. If so then you have a frozen water line in the freezer door. There is a heater that you would want to get for this issue which is part number WR49X10173.
