Duke for Model Number PFS22S1SBSS I am trying to replace the overload relay. I cannot get it out of the unit that it is inserted in. I read some of the other comments and found that I should have purchased a P.t.c. + Olp AsmOEM which already has the relay in it. The one pictured for my refrigerator looks completely different than what I have. Am I looking at the wrong part or will it replace what I have? Do I need to also purchase the part that connects to the front of it? Why is the overload relay sold if it cannot be removed from the P.t.c. + Olp AsmOEM? Thanks
Answer Hello Duke, This is the overload and relay assembly and it is replacable. If the old one will not come off you may have had a poor electrical connection which welded the apparatus on the compressor pins. Use a screwdriver and pry the old one off. Make sure the pins do not have burned spots on them. If they do, they will have to be sanded until shiny. If not, the new part will not make connection and the unit may or may not run. The pin sticking up is for the capacitor to attach to and the slots are where it will plug in. The hot wire will connect to the bottom most terminal and the neutral to the one nearest the capacitor. The manufacturer determines what parts are and are not made available for purchase. PFS22SISBSS Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, October 22, 2013
