Manufacturer Part Number: WB27X10858

The Display Control Board is an OEM part for GE microwaves, designed to serve as the central hub for the appliance's electronic controls and display. This component is responsible for managing various functions, including the microwave's timing, power levels, and cooking presets, as well as displaying information to the user through the digital screen..

The causes of these issues can range from electrical surges damaging the board's components, to wear and tear from regular use, or even moisture infiltration from cooking processes.

Symptoms of a failing Display Control Board include:

  • The microwave display not lighting up or showing incomplete information
  • Buttons not responding or the microwave failing to start cooking cycles
  • Erratic behavior, such as the microwave starting on its own or not following selected settings
  • Error codes appearing on the display, indicating faults within the system

This OEM GE  part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Joe for Model Number ZSC1000KBB01

GE Microwave model ZSC1000KBB01 My display board dances and flickers. Bought a new one from you guys (WB27X10856), installed and it worked fine for six weeks or so. Then started flickering and dancing again, but generally performs the requested function, but it will likely stop working normally again soon. Infrequently, and at random times, the microwave will beep and the display goes blank, them comes back to standard display of time. When used again, it begins to flicker a few seconds after starting. And then may remain in that state for sometime (can still use microwave). I tested the transformer (WB17X10021): Ohms results: source white & black = target 23.2 - actual 22.6 (slightly low) yellow & black = target 1.5 - actual 1.5 — Volt test = target 13VAC - actual 13.1 black & white = target 5.2 - actual 5.2 — Volt test = target 20VAC - actual 20.1 red & brown = target 1.1 - actual 1.0 (slightly low) — Volt test = target 8VAC - actual 8.2 It appears to me the transformer readings are either right on or only slightly off, so guessing the transformer is working fine. I believe replacing the control board (WB27X10861) is next. Should I also be replacing the Pwb(pcb)Asm Sub (WB27X10858)? Is it possible that the Digitron display board (WB27X10856) is still okay? Would hate to have to replace that as well. Lastly, is the quality of the parts I may order from you of equal quality compared to geapplianceparts.com? Could you please address my three specific questions and in general, indicate that I’m on the right path Thanks, Joe

Answer

Joe, It would be recommended to check to make sure that the transformer in the control panel is good as this would be the most likely cause for this issue.
