B.J. for Model Number JVM1790SK01

The microwave simply stopped working last night. Everything else works fine (timer, clock, light, fan etc) but it does not start. When the start button is pushed the timer counts down but motor does not start. I hear clicking sound (one click at the beginning like it is trying to turn the motor on and a few seconds later another click like it turns itself off due to failure) on control panel when I push start button. Is that due to relay failure or something else? Can I just change the relay somehow?

Answer

Hello B.J., This can be one of the door switches, the low voltage transformer, the control board or an open circuit in the high voltage side of the circuit. You will need to open the unit and test the components to determine which component/s are causing the issue. When you get the control panel opened, you will find the wiring diagram in a small envelope or taped to the inside of the unit/control panel. This problem will require a test meter to locate.
