Dan R. for Model Number JGBP85BEJ1BB I changed my igniter about 5 months ago due to the oven not heating properly. Now it when i set it to 350 and confirmed with a dial thermometer, it will hit 350-375. Even though it is still at that temp, it will try to re-ignite to maintain the temp, even though its already at the right temp (it may rise up to around 400°). At that point it will cycle on and off very briefly over and over. The gas will light for about 30 seconds and then go out. I changed the thermostat anyway, since i though that might be the culprit, but it didnt resolve anything. My thought it that it might be the igniter again, but to have it fail after only 5 months seems pretty odd. Can you help?
Answer Hello Dan, This could be the ignitor but to test for sure, a clamp on amp meter should be put on one of the ignitor wires while the unit is powered up and turned on. If you read a current draw of 3.6 to 3.9 amps, the issue is more likely the temperature sensor WB20K10015 or the gas valve WB19K10041. Read More...
