Lucas for Model Number PCF23NGTDBB Just curious - how does a damper door break when the refrigerator has been sitting in the same place for 8 years? Does the cold temperature cause the hinge to eventually crack? Your site is outstanding, unlike this refrigerator! I've already replaced the motherboard, need to replace light switch, and the thermistors will be next. Thank you for all the great information!
Answer Hello Lucas. Thank you for the compliment. As for the damper, over time the plastic can become brittle and when it does, it breaks. Most of the time, there is an icing issue in the damper and the ice build up causes it to break. This can be due to a faulty fan motor, leak around the door seals or fountain, or a bad sensor.
