Sherry for Model Number PSI23SGMDBS I ordered the new GE damper assembly from you. My only question is on the old assembly the styrofoam was cut out on the assembly so air flow went directly into refrigerator....this area is not cut out on the new parts. Is it supposed to be or is this what they have changed to keep things from freezing? On your diagram picture you can see the white styrofoam piece facing you showing through the plastic on part.
Answer Hello Sherry. I would leave the styrofoam in the new part. According to the manufacturer the damper and fan assembly have been updated to prevent freezing in the refrigerator. Hope this helps. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, March 24, 2011
