Stephen for Model Number GSS25XSRESS After reading thru the questions that were posted I took the damper out of my fridge only to find that the damper is in the "closed" position. I am still experiencing freezing of the lower levels in the fridge so I suspect that the problem is the thermistor. Am I correct in this conclusion? The other thing I want to make sure of is whether the damper is functioning correctly, how would I test this.
Answer Hello Stephen, You can test the thermistors for resistance. Here are the readings you should have for thermistor: 0 degrees/42.5Kohms, 37 degrees/14 Kohms and 77 degrees/5kohms. Outside these readings means that the thermistor is faulty. You can test the damper by holding thermistor in hand it should warm thermistor enough to cause damper door to open. If you take a piece of ice and put on thermistor it should get cold enough to close damper. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, January 22, 2013
