Manufacturer Part Number: WD21X24901C

The Service Machine Control is an OEM component specifically designed for GE dishwashers. As the main control board, it regulates all wash cycles including temperature, filtration, spray arm rotation, drying functions and end of cycle signals.

Causes of a faulty service machine control include normal wear and tear over time. Electronic failures or water exposure from plumbing issues can also trigger malfunctions.

Symptoms of a failing control board are:

  • Inability to progress through cycles fully
  • Flashing error codes during washes
  • Inconsistent wash and rinse performance
  • Component damage from power overload issues

Replacing it with this genuine GE OEM part restores optimal cycle handling. Proper controls are essential for sanitizing every wash. The part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA and some Kenmore models.

Dan J. for Model Number GE Appliances Model GDT655SSJ2SS

Hello, My dishwasher Model # GDT655SSJ2SS worked intermittently after a Power surge/Outage during a storm. I could cycle the breaker and it would work again. Then the UI on top of the door became unresponsive. It has 120vac at the receptacle. After reading the Q & A here it seemed I needed to replace the Main Control Board. I ordered and replaced the Main Control Board with no success. How do I check the wiring harness and/or UI Board? What else could it be?

Answer

Dan, You would want to check for 13 VDC getting to the UI board at the connector J401 pin 1 to pin 2. If there is 13 vdc then this will be a faulty UI board. If there is not then go to the main board J722 and test pin 2 to pin 5 and if there is voltage then the harness will be faulty, no voltage would be a faulty main board.
