Manufacturer Part Number: WD21X24901C

The Service Machine Control is an OEM component specifically designed for GE dishwashers. As the main control board, it regulates all wash cycles including temperature, filtration, spray arm rotation, drying functions and end of cycle signals.

Causes of a faulty service machine control include normal wear and tear over time. Electronic failures or water exposure from plumbing issues can also trigger malfunctions.

Symptoms of a failing control board are:

  • Inability to progress through cycles fully
  • Flashing error codes during washes
  • Inconsistent wash and rinse performance
  • Component damage from power overload issues

Replacing it with this genuine GE OEM part restores optimal cycle handling. Proper controls are essential for sanitizing every wash. The part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA and some Kenmore models.

Brandon for Model Number GDT655SMJ2ES

My dishwasher will start to fill with water, but after filling it doesn't do anything else. The timer will count down, the heater activates, but no water circulates. At the end of the cycle is will drain the remaining water from the bottom of the machine. I initially thought this was the float switch and/or water inlet valve. I replaced both of those and the symptoms persist. Do you think the problem is more likely with the circulation pump, or could it be the machine control board?

Answer

Hello Brandon, thank you for contacting APP, This will be an issue with the Circulation Pump Motor [OEM18118277] or the Service Machine Control [OEM21647324]. You may be able to verify which if you are comfortable testing live voltage with a meter. When the circulation pump should be running you should be getting about 120V AC at the pump connector from yellow to brown. If voltage is present replace the circulation pump, if not present replace the control.
