Johnf for Model Number GE Profile PdW8280J03SS I replace the circulation pump a few years a go it’s been working fine. About 3 months ago the pump would not start all the time. It would fill and empty. But would not circulate. If you restart it the pump might start and wash the dishes. I cleaned the the float switch and it started working. But the problem still exist intermittently. Could it be the float switch not turning the circulation pump on? What could be the problem?
Answer John, A bad float switch would more likely cause an overfilling issue. It would be recommended to check to make sure that there is 120 Vac to the circulation motor when it is supposed to run. Check to make sure that there is nothing caught in the pump and if there is power and nothing caught then the motor would need to be replaced. If there is no power then check for loose or damaged wiring. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, April 29, 2021
