Chris September 29, 2023 for Model Number GDF570SGF8BB WD21X10519 I just received the float switch and checked the continuity. center two pins . * * . . . . It is reading 6.5. The old one read .37. I have seen that it should be around 11.
1 Answer Chris, The flood switch would have continuity and does not have a set reading. As long as it is not an open line then it should be good. Read More...
James Rolstad June 20, 2023 for Model Number GDT580SGFwww I get a code in the select cycle read out that says IH. what does it mean? Also when I run the diagnostics it comes up 999. what does that mean?
1 Answer James, Typically the IH would indicate 1 hour when selecting a cycle or putting the unit into a delay start. There is no error of 999 and that is most likely a version number. If there is a problem with the unit it will have a light on the main control under the unit that would flash a certain way depending on what the problem with the unit is and the tech sheet will tell you what this would mean. Bruce January 13, 2022 for Model Number PDT750SSF7SS Dishwasher not heating. Cannot find hidden heater element on any parts drawing from GE. Three questions: 1) where is heater element? 2) How to test GE WD21X10519 Dishwasher Flood Switch? and 3) What pins on control panel control heating element)
1 Answer Hello Bruce, your model has hidden heater element that is part of the main wash/circulation motor ,it is powered by the main board located under the dishwasher by the J703 connector. The heater has a ohm value of 14.4 ohms. The flood switch should show no continuity unless the float is lifted, terminals on the switch are 1-7. Read More...
Katie January 01, 2022 for Model Number GDT530PSD1SS Hi, my dishwasher is leaking water from the bottom of the door when running. We have replaced the lower door gasket and the tub gasket, but are getting the same result - water on the floor. Observations, as soon as I saw the leak I canceled the cycle, so it didn't go through any drying cycle, but hours later there is about a half inch of standing water around the flood switch assembly. There is little to no buildup of debris in the washer as far as I can tell. During the cycle after replacing the gaskets, I checked the drain pipe, and there was water going from the dishwasher through the pipe into the garbage disposal without impediment. I have also confirmed that the spray arm is functional. What do you recommend as a next test? Should the flood switch assembly be replaced? Thank you in advance!
1 Answer Katie, it would be recommended that all of the water be cleared from the dishwasher. After an hour, inspect under the filter for any water. If there is water building up after it was cleared, the failure would be in the water valve WD15X10015. Read More...
Geoffrey December 23, 2021 for Model Number GDT645SYN3FS Hi, We have a new, 13 months old, dishwasher, and it will not dry the dishes completely, they are not steaming hot as before. I see online it could be the flood switch, heating element or thermostat. Can you give me an idea of the tests needed to check these parts. Thanks Geoff
1 Answer Geoffrey, the heating element WD05X35098 and TCO WD21X27402 can be tested from the main control and should measure 14.5 Ohms of resistance when testing the wires at connection J704 pin 2 to pin 1. The turbidity sensor WD21X22830 would need to be tested from the wires at connection J806 pin 11 to pin 8. It should measure around 10K Ohms of resistance at room temperature. If this tests good, the next step would be identifying if the vent fan WD24X25325 is receiving 13.5 VDC during the drying cycle. If the fan does not, the main control WD21X27998 has failed. If the fan does but it does not rotate, the fan motor has failed. Read More...

Johnf April 28, 2021 for Model Number GE Profile PdW8280J03SS I replace the circulation pump a few years a go it’s been working fine. About 3 months ago the pump would not start all the time. It would fill and empty. But would not circulate. If you restart it the pump might start and wash the dishes. I cleaned the the float switch and it started working. But the problem still exist intermittently. Could it be the float switch not turning the circulation pump on? What could be the problem?
1 Answer John, A bad float switch would more likely cause an overfilling issue. It would be recommended to check to make sure that there is 120 Vac to the circulation motor when it is supposed to run. Check to make sure that there is nothing caught in the pump and if there is power and nothing caught then the motor would need to be replaced. If there is no power then check for loose or damaged wiring. Read More...
