Mr Felde for Model Number DDE5300BBL My dryer works fine for about 10 to 15 minutes on high heat setting. Then the circuit breaker cuts the power off. I usually wait for 5min before resetting breaker to finish drying. This has been going on for about a year now. We had an appliance guy come out said it was the breaker. Then we just had electrician guy say it was the dryer and did not replace the breaker. I think its the cycle thermostat.
Answer Mr Felde, With this issue you will want to check the wiring of the dryer for any bare wires, check to make sure that the heating element is not making contact with the heater housing as this could also cause the issue. The cycling thermostat would not cause the unit to trip the breaker. In most cases this would be a weak breaker and it would need to be replaced. Read More...
