Kelly for Model Number DDE5300GBL The dryer does not always heat and dry the laundry. It'll work maybe for 1 or 2 loads and then no heat. If you play with all the controls it may work but usually the dryer has to sit for a long period of time for it to work again. Everything seems to work except the heat at times. It was looked at by an appliance repairman and couldn't find anything wrong with it. Then the next day the very first load of laundry would not dry. But this evening the heat is working. I suspect that the thermostat may be flaking out and turning off the heat sometimes? Just my guess. What do you think? Thanks, Kelly
Answer Hello Kelly. You can test the thermostat when the unit does not dry and see if it is open. If so, you will need to replace it. You can test this with a multi-meter MA-DM1. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
