Federman for Model Number gss20gewjbb Having the same problem on both my GE fridge (yes, I have two identical fridge). The fill tube inside the icemaker keep frosting and preventing to make ice (I guess because of the fill tube is blocked with soild ice). I have to defrost this everyday just to keep it going. It will make half a tray of ice . What a do I need to get this working back to normal ?
Answer Hi Federman. You may need to replace both water valves part # WR57X10050. You also need to check both supply lines have strong water pressure coming to the valves. Flush them out in a bucket. Make sure the lines are not kinked, keeping the water valve slightly open. The water vale needs 20-120 #'s /pressure to keep them closed. Make sure the door chute flappers close tightly. Make sure the door seals are sealing well. Open one at a time to tape the door switch shut and then get a complete birds eye view of the seals. It will show light also if not correctly sealed.
