Answer Cherrie, To determine if the igniter is good then there would be 2 different methods you could try. If available, you could use an amp clamp and place it on one of the igniter wires and turn the unit on and see if you get an amp draw of between 3.2 and 3.6 amps. If there is proper amp draw then the valve is the issue otherwise the igniter is faulty. The same would be true if you are using a meter and testing voltage at the valve for 3.2 to 3.6 vac.
