Kevin for Model Number mer6755aaw Bottom oven element does not work, replaced element ,still don't work. Both elements have continuity. What else could it be? Thanks.
Answer Hi Kevin. Remove power. Remove the back. Find a round thermostat with 2- wires attached in the middle area of the lower oven. Jump out these wires. Use electrical tape around the wires so you can momentarily test now with power. If it works then replace the thermostat part # 74009969. Did it stop working during or after a self-clean? If so you need to consider replacing the oven sensor as they have been updated also to withstand the self clean temperatures and last considerably longer. This sensor will ohm out to 1080 ohms to 1100 ohms., rotate the wires during testing as to test for an open or short. Thank You. Let us know if this works because the last part is that the clock/control needs replaced. Clock Part # W10769079. Chances are though as both elements are not working, it will not be the clock as both bake and broil relay should send 120 vac respectively during demands. Usually just the bake relay wears out sooner as it is used mostly. Thank You. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Saturday, November 5, 2011
