Robert May 03, 2018 for Model Number MER6755AAB When using the top oven on bake, using the timer sometimes during cooking the bake and temperature will shut down on the control panel. The heating element quits working. This doesn't always happen. Can you help?
1 Answer Hello Robert. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the control board W10769079 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Thank you. Read More...
Marie April 09, 2018 for Model Number Maytag Gemini double oven My Upper Oven in not reaching temperture. Can the coil be replaced or is this a board issue.? Help. Thank you
1 Answer Hello Marie. It could be because of either part. You will need to test the element and see if it is bad. If not, and the voltage is good, you will need to replace the control board. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Wm Boyd G January 03, 2018 for Model Number MER6755AAQ When turning on the left front burner on it doesn't turn on until #4 setting.
1 Answer WM Boyd G, With the burner not turning on til the 4 setting is reached then this will be a infinite switch that is faulty and is part number WP7403P238-60. Read More...
Ron October 22, 2017 for Model Number MER6751AAB I need to replace the control panel. I'm looking on your sight and came across the panel I need but it's showing it in WHITE and I need it in BLACK. My question is, is it a matter of separating the touch pad from the control panel...or do you carry it in black?
1 Answer Hello Ron. WP74009994 is the black overlay. The black control panel 74010011 has been permanently discontinued by the manufacturer and we don't know of any source or replacement for the part. Thank you. Read More...
Mike Sherrill August 22, 2017 for Model Number MER6765BAW why is it showing hs 133 on the panal nothing is working
1 Answer Mike, The hs 133 is a programming/production code for the eeprom chip on the ERC/Clock. Occasionally the code can appear in the display when there has been a power supply issue, but it usually disappears after a few seconds. Since the code is visible, and nothing is working, the W10769079 Electronic Control has failed and will need to be replaced. Read More...
Brett June 03, 2016 for Model Number MER6755AAB I thought maybe it was a heating element problem but now I'm not sure. I took them both out and tested with a multimeter. The lower oven bake element tests at 22O. I saw on another post you said this should be 30-32O, is this too low? The top oven bake element tests at 30O. Broil setting still works on both top and bottom ovens. When I turn on the bottom oven the lower element does not get hot at all. You can touch it. I am not entirely sure on the top oven. I stopped using it a few months back because I would turn it on to 350°, it would SAY it heated up to the temp in like 2 minutes or so, but the oven was not anywhere near that hot. Maybe 200°. What should I test next? Might be 2 separate issues? Oven Temp Sensor on top oven and bake element on bottom oven?
1 Answer Hello Brett, This is most likely a failed relay on the control W10769079. This can be diagnosed if you isolate L1 from L2 by pulling one wire loose from the bake element. Make sure the wire cannot contact ground or any other connections and introduce 240Vac to the unit. Check at the wire for 120Vac and check the terminal for 120Vac. One will be L1 and the other L2. The one that is missing will be the side you will have to backtrack with the wiring diagram to pinpoint the issue. If the control is the issue, there will be no voltage on the bake terminal that leads to the bake terminal with the wire still disconnected. Always remember the power is connected and turned on to prevent electrical shock. Read More...
Tim May 28, 2016 for Model Number MER6755AAW Control panel # AP5957887 was around $250 a couple months ago. Now That I can afford to order it, its now over $300! Can I get a discount ?
1 Answer Sorry Tim. There was a price increase by the manufacturer and we have no control over those. Read More...
Joe December 30, 2015 for Model Number MER6755AAS26 The lower oven will not lock for self cleaning. My understanding is that the issue is either the door latch or the control board and I need to check the voltage to the control latch to dteremine which it is. Can you tell me how to test this?
1 Answer Hello Joe. You will need to access the wires going to the lock motor. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html 1. Disconnect the appliance from power source before servicing. 2. Remove main top as outlined in main top removal. 3. Remove the screws securing the side panel at the top and back of frame. 4. Remove the screws securing the rear panel to frame. Remove rear panel. 5. Slide side panel away from the frame at rear and lift out of the slots in front. Remove side panel. 6. Release the bands, securing the insulation wrap, at the bottom. 7. Slide the insulation wrap back. Note: This will aid in guiding the latch assembly in and out. 8. Disconnect the wiring from the lock switches at the rear. 9. Slide the latch assembly out from the rear. To reinstall: 1. Slide latch assembly in from the rear. 2. Guide assembly to front using the side access. 3. Make sure the screw holes of the assembly line up with the screw holes in the frame. 4. Reinsert the screws. Note: Make sure the insulation is back in place when finished. Failure to do so will result in hot spots and poor baking complaints. 5. Reattach band to the bottom of frame. 6. Reconnect wiring to the lock switches. 7. Reinstall the side panel. 8. Reinstall the rear panel. 9. Reinstall the main top. Read More...
Jim October 06, 2015 for Model Number MER6770AAW My Maytag Gemini bakes for awhile then interrupts baking in the lower oven and the control panel gives an F-1 code, which says to check the upper oven temperature sensor for malfunction. Though the sensor seemed OK, the problem recurred and gave the same code, so I replaced the upper sensor with a new one. Now the same problem is occurring even though the new sensor is fine. Does this mean the control panel is acting up? It seems to work OK. What should I test next, and how?
1 Answer Jim, You will want to check the wiring between the control and the oven sensor to ensure that the wires are good. If they are good then you would want to replace the control board. Read More...
Matt March 21, 2015 for Model Number MER6775AAS The bake element of the upper oven does not heat up. We checked the continuity back to the control board and verified the heating element itself is about 30 ohms. Is there anything else I should check or does this indicate a new control board is needed? And if control board, is a special tool needed to remove the wiring harness connectors? They seem to be held on by the metal fastener and not the plastic housing clip. Thanks in advance.
1 Answer Matt, With the upper element not working and the element and wiring checks ok then you would want to replace the control board. There is no special tool required to replace the board. You may want to use needle nose pliers to pull the terminals off if there is difficulty pulling them off by hand. Read More...
