Lw for Model Number Kenmore Elite 795.72043.112 I have a Sear's Kenmore Elite showing an error code ER 1F. Within 12 hours the error code vanished and the electronic control panel now seems to be working correctly. Two weeks prior after having not completely shut the bottom freezer door overnight the refrigerator iced up in the freezer compartment on the back wall and had to be defrosted before the refrigerator would cool the top and bottom compartments. No error code showed at that time. My question: Is a component starting to fail intermittently? Cooling fan motor #: ABA72913413 ? Do you think that these events two weeks apart are related? What is the best coarse of action at this time? Thanks, LW
Answer LW, It is very likely the situations are related. Er 1f, Er IF, Er 1F, or just 1F, IF, or F1. These error codes are all indicating the same thing (ICE MAKER FAN). The true error code for a faulty Ice maker motor or Ice blower fan is “1F” as per the LG refrigerator error code database. We would recommend, you check and make sure the freezer door is closing and sealing properly, first. With frost and ice accumulating on the evaporator and inside the evaporator compartment, the fan(s) could or would be restricted by the ice and frost in the air tunnels and produce the error code. You'll probably be fine for a while, but if the error code returns, replace the ice maker fan. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, February 1, 2017
