Keith for Model Number WM3431HW Part that drains water. My LG ventless washer/dryer combo stopped draining water and was making horrible grinding noises while it was trying to drain. I took apart the washer and pulled the pump but it seems to turn freely. Would that be the only part that drains water, or is there an assisting part? What would that grinding noise be if the part turns freely or is that what happens when the part breaks?
Answer Keith, The drain pump 4681EA2001T is the component involved in draining the water from the washer tub, there is no auxillary pumps or components involved. If you checked and made sure the pump casing 3661FR2093E was clear, and there were no articles remaining in the tub to pump or drain hoses, then the drain pump is the issue. The pump will make noise for various reasons, but it's most likely due to a motor bearing failure or impeller that is loose on the motor shaft. Read More...
