The Drain Pump and Motor is an original LG (OEM) replacement part for LG made washing machines that is responsible for removing water from the washer at the end of the wash cycle. The pump forces water out through the drain hose so that clothing comes out free of excess water, making the drying process faster.

Symptoms of a failing Drain Pump Motor include:

  • Water not draining out of the washing machine
  • Noisy or unusual sounds coming from the pump area during the drain cycle
  • The washing machine stopping mid-cycle

Causes of a bad Drain Pump Motor can range from obstructions in the pump or hose, which can strain or damage the motor, to wear and tear from regular use leading to motor failure. Electrical issues can also affect the motor's performance, preventing it from operating correctly.

This OEM LG part can also be used on Kenmore/Sears appliances.

Hello Jacqueline, thank you for contacting APP, I would recommend disconnecting the unit from power, water, and the drain hose and laying it on its front to see what has happened in the machine compartment under the unit. If you have water coming from under the unit then the drain pump W10876600 has become detached from a hose or water is leaking past the tub seal. You may also have transmission W11454734, drive motor W11283592, shift actuator W11481722, clutch W10721967, and/or other component failure.

Hello Kenneth, thank you for contacting APP, It is possible that a small amount of Fabric Softener and Detergent will be left over in the Dispenser Assembly after a cycle. If it appears that there is an excessive amount of Detergent or Fabric Softener left over, it is possible that there is an issue with one of the Valves not filling properly, as this unit utilizes the valves being activated in certain combinations to divert water flow into the various chambers of the Detergent Dispenser Assembly, or the Main Control is not activating the Valves in those combinations at the proper time. As the unit is leaving both Detergent and Fabric Softener after a cycle, I would suspect that the issue is with the Valves, PT# 5220FR2006H is the Single Valve Inlet Assembly for the Hot Water and PT# 5220FR2075L is the Triple Valve Inlet Assembly for the Cold Water. If those have been replaced or all have been verified as working properly, I would suspect that the issue is in the Main Control, unfortunately, it appears that the Main Controls for this unit are no longer available.
