Jim for Model Number LG DLG 3788 I believe I created this problem ... I was checking the voltage to the gas valve and accidently cross the leads on my volt meter a small spark resulted. So now, the dryer starts and runs fine on the air dry cycle, but whenever I set it to any heat cycle the motor starts but shuts off immediately. Realizing I more than likely shorted something out. What do you recommend that I look at first? Control Panel? Motor switch/assembly? Fuse? Thank you.
Answer Jim, Based on the issue, it sounds like you may have shorted out the main control board. This is based on the that the motor is running which means that the centrifugal switch is working. While the thermal fuse could be an issue, the control is more likely because when the heat circuit is turned on it is shorting the control board out. Read More...
