Shadetreeschmuck for Model Number LG I have an LG gas dryer. I just changed out the igniter in this unit, and everything worked great - I heard it fire up, I felt the heat, etc. So, I filled it with a half-load of laundry and let it run. To my surprise, at the end of the cycle, the clothes were still damp (and cold'ish). Now when I start it up, I do not hear the fire start up and I do not feel any warmth. I hate the thought of taking this stupid thing apart again. I cant imagine the new igniter burned out already - is that even possible? Any ideas where I should look and/or why this may be? Ugh!
Answer Shade Tree, You will need to check the wiring to the gas valve, and the gas supply to the dryer. Based on your post information, if the problem persists, you'll most likely need a new gas valve( the solenoids on the valve are weak and "dropping out" after being energized for a while during the heating cycle. You'll need your model number to determine if the solenoids are available, or if you'll need to replace the complete valve assembly. Read More...
