Ray for Model Number Goldstar microwave MV1555ST It appears that the switch that turns off the light and allows you to start the microwave isn't working. It appears that a switch is engaged by the lower prong in the door when the door is closed. Is this correct? When you depress the switch manually by pushing a pen or screwdriver into the hole where the latch goes into you can hear the click of the switch but the light stays on and the start button doesn't work. When you look into the hole where the latch goes into when the door is closed you see a plastic piece that moves in and out when you push it with the screwdriver. This piece appears to engage a switch. Am I diagnosing this correctly? Are the parts available to fix this problem? (the plastic piece or the switch or whatever)? Thanks, Ray
Answer Hello Ray. You will need to remove the outer cover and test the switches AEJ75540901. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter.
