Scott Schmalz for Model Number LFC20770ST My ice maker is overfilling and casing all ice in one big clump. I have seen numerous times that I emptied the ice container that it appears that some times the ice tray is not completely dropping all the ice from the tray. Then goes to fill and it overflows. Does this ice maker have a mold heater? Does this ice maker have a mold thermostat or maker module that could bad? I have called LG Customer Service and they can not tell me the problems they have had with this model. I was thinking about completely replacing the ice maker but will that solve the problem.? I know that the fill valve is not leaking through. Completely frustrated. Can you please advise. Scott
Answer Scott, No, this ice maker does not have a mold heater, it does have a "mold thermostat/sensor, which tells the control the cubes are frozen and ready to be dispensed into the ice bucket. This Is a "Twist Tray" icemaker, the ice tray sensor sends the signal to the control, the motor runs and twists the try and cubes fall into the bucket. You do need to check that the sensor hasn't been dislodged from the bottom of the ice tray, make sure the ice tray revolves back into a horizontal position then fills to make new cubes. If you're sure the water valve AJU55759303 water valve is operating properly and not "seeping" water, the sensor is in position on the bottom of the ice cube tray, then the issue would be in the control AEQ72909603 Ice Maker Assembly, kit and it would need to be replaced.
