Mike for Model Number LG WM2277HW I am tuning up my old LG frontload to sell. It was working normally when I took it out of service and replaced it with a new one. My problem is a noise I can't eliminate or find the source of. It sounds like drumming your fingers on a box. The noise comes from the outer tub while the washer is turning slowly during the wash cycles. When it spins fast, no noise. I'm sure the drum noise is coming from someplace else and is just being amplified by the outer drum. It washes all cycles just fine and just started doing this a few years ago. For the rebuild I have replaced: both pumps, drum spider/shaft, bearings, seal, front tub boot. The noise did not change. Since it was coming from the outer tub, I replaced the stator and rotor position sensor since they are attached to it. Still no change. Nothing is loose and the tub springs and shocks are all fine. The only thing I was wondering about was the control board. Would it make the washer make that type of noise just at slow speed? Also what is the function of the noise filter. These are about the only 2 things I haven't replaced.
Answer Mike, The noise filter is to clean up any line noise that comes in through the power supply lines. This issue could be caused by a control board but would be a long shot for this issue. Check the pump to make sure that there is nothing clogged in the pump. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, November 19, 2018
