Michael for Model Number WM2050CW Hi— I have an LG washing machine WM2050CW that gets no power, even after the reset procedure. The noise filter appears to be allowing 120v across, so I think that’s ok. I can’t get any ohms across the main control board fuse though, which of course leads me to believe it’s cooked. I don’t, however, want to buy a new control board and just fry it. Is there any other troubleshooting I can do before installing the board? Drum spins freely, but that’s all I’ve looked at. The washer quit mid-cycle and someone nearby reported a possible “burning plastic” smell when it quit. Very small load.
Answer Michael, the wires can be tested for any grounded out wire to identify if excessive current could be damaging the control EBR38163349. The motor windings can be tested for resistance and should measure between 8KO to 12KO in each winding. If there is not a grounded or shorted wire, and the motor tests within tolerance, then there should not be any components that are causing excessive current flow through the main control.
