The Dishwasher Circulation Motor is an OEM part for LG dishwashers. It plays a crucial role in the dishwasher's operation by pumping water through the spray arms during the wash cycle, ensuring that dishes are thoroughly cleaned.

Over time, the circulation motor can fail due to normal wear and tear, electrical issues, or blockages caused by debris. A malfunctioning motor can lead to inefficient cleaning and increased noise levels. Regular maintenance and avoiding overloading the dishwasher can help extend the motor's lifespan.

Symptoms of a bad circulation motor include:

  • Dishes not being cleaned properly
  • Unusual noises during the wash cycle
  • The dishwasher not completing cycles
  • Water not circulating within the dishwasher

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore.

The blade hit one of the screw heads on the bottom of the sump case (nomenclature?) and the interfrerence stopped the (spray arms) pump motor. This, of course, caused an "LE" error display. Upon disassembly and reassembly, the interference went away - almost. The washer now works but the slight interferrence of the blade and the screw head make just enough noise to be "unsettling" to the operator. Is here a shim (maybe .005 or .010) that can be put on the motor shaft (seating surface for the blade) that will lower the blade slightly? [At disassembly the blade appeared quite flat when placed on a "flat surface".] Is there a gasket in the structure that might improve the blade - screw head clearance if it were replaced ? Same question for the motor mount screws washers ? Without fouling the bottom of the IMPELLER with the sump case. Thank You.

Answer

Hi. In between the lower sump and the middle case part # 3111DD1001A is a packing part# 3920ED4009B that is on the motor shaft. There is gasket part # 4986DD3004A that round the Use rinse aid to help install this part. There are no Service Bulletins @ this issue so it must be a stacking issue or the impeller top bolt must have gotten loose since it is a left hand thread inner motor shaft. Use loktite part # F8283401 to help keep it in. The impeller is part # 5911ED3003A in case it is bent or damaged. Thank You.
