Lee for Model Number LG LFXS30766S What is the correct ohm reading for this fan motor? and what terminals do I measure across? If applying voltage, what terminals do I apply, can you tell me the wire color?
Answer Lee, this fan motor would not be tested for resistance. When it is plugged into the refrigerator and the door switch is in the closed position, it would be tested from the black wire (with the red probe of a meter) to the red wire (with the black probe of a meter) for 8 to 12 VDC. If there is between 8 to 12 VDC the fan should be rotating and the red meter probe would then be moved to the purple wire and it should measure between 1 to 4.9 VDC. If the fan motor is receiving between 8 to 12 VDC but not sending between 1 to 4.9 VDC out, the fan motor is bad. If the fan motor is not receiving 8 to 12 VDC, the temperature sensor would need to be tested and the main control would need to be tested. Read More...
