Keith Beall for Model Number LMXS30776S Used Smart Diagnostic system (tones) with LG Customer Service after items in the freezer started to get soft. Ice Maker also stopped working. Something was constantly running (humming), but diagnostic report concluded it was possibly defrost sensor, or unit needed to be manually defrosted. Unit was unplugged for 24 hours, then plugged back in, but it's still the same. Freezer and Frig are cold, but something is still not getting cold air to ice maker, and something is still running. Though sometimes the whole unit becomes totally silent, like it should. I utilized the reset button on the mother board before, and reset (test) showed compressor and fan on bottom are working, and both inside top/bottom cooling fans were working. Could this be the defrost sensor, please help. Not sure how this is related to the ice maker. This was also tested, and the tray turns, but water is not freezing in tray. Thank you!!
Answer Keith, You will want to remove the rear panel inside the freezer and check to see if the coils are impacted with ice. If they are then this would be a defrost system failure in which the defrost sensor could be the issue. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, May 11, 2022
