Keith for Model Number LMXS30776S I asked a question earlier today, and you suggested checking behind the panel to see if the coils were impacted with ice. The unit was unplugged and doors were opened for 36 hours to defrost, you suggest removing the panel to check the coils now that it has been back on for 24 hours? Will this (sensor), if bad, also impact the ice maker not working, and is this the correct part number for the sensor 6500JB2001B ? I wasn't sure if there was a different defrost sensor, or if they are one in the same? Thank you
Answer Keith, it would be recommended that the evaporator is inspected since the unit has been operating for 24 hours as this will certainly help identify what kind of frost pattern is occurring on the evaporator. If there is an ice build-up on the evaporator, the defrost heater assembly MEE62805303 could be the potential cause. Ice build-up on the evaporator can block up the ice maker fan located on the left side of the freezer, causing the ice maker to be unable to produce ice. Read More...
