Judy for Model Number 79577712700

I inquired about a reset for the display panel after changing the control board. You responded that I should make sure the correct part was installed. The part available was changed from the original (2007). Do I need to change the display control board, electronic control board or any other part so that they are compatible with the new Control board? I have no interior light if I put the old board back in place. I'm frustrated because I feel I should be able to do this and answers are hard to find. Thanks.

Answer

Judy, It would not be required to replace the display panel. The reason that we suggest checking to make sure that the correct part is installed is because sometimes the manufacturer will substitute to one part but a different part is required. If you still have the original part then you could look at the board and see if there is a part number on it. Use the number off the original board and see if it goes to the part number that you installed. These boards are just plug and play and should not need to be programmed.
