The PCB Assembly, Main is an OEM part for LG refrigerators. This main control board, or printed circuit board (PCB), manages and coordinates all the refrigerator's functions, including temperature regulation, defrost cycles, and other essential operations. It acts as the brain of the refrigerator, ensuring efficient and effective performance.

Common causes of a bad PCB include electrical surges, manufacturing defects, or wear and tear over time. These issues can disrupt the refrigerator's normal functions and lead to various operational problems.

Symptoms of a bad PCB assembly include:

  • The refrigerator not cooling properly
  • Error codes displayed on the control panel
  • Unresponsive or malfunctioning controls
  • Inconsistent temperatures within the refrigerator compartments

This OEM LG part is also compatible with Sears/Kenmore models.

Curt for Model Number LFC25760SW

Sorry I got the letters reversed on LG fridge with lights staying on with doors closed, and freezer working but fridge not cooling. Could it be a damper issue? Difficult to find info on this particular fridge model LFC25760SW Serial 611KRSB00878. Since I sent the original message removed light bulbs and reinstalled, door switches started working. Is there a diagnostic I can run on this fridge to determine error codes or other possible problems. As always your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks for being available for Di'yers with limited knowledge and abilities.

Answer

Curt, the damper can be tested by accessing the main control 6871JB1423N on the back of the refrigerator. There will be a little button on the main control that can be pressed. The first time it is pressed, the compressor and freezer fans should start operating and the damper in the refrigerator duct assembly 5209JJ1009A (unfortunately, this has been discontinued by the manufacturer) should be fully open. If it does not open, the next step would be to test the voltage going to the damper while the main control button is pressed one more time. The damper should receive voltage to have it close. If the damper receives voltage, the duct assembly would need to be replaced. If it does not receive voltage, the main control would be suspect. However, should the damper open and close properly, the next step would be to identify if there are any obstructions in the return vents and the airflow vent.
