Firedawgsa for Model Number WM2277HS I have the washer apart and I replaced the two bearings and seal. I looked at the spider and it appears to be in relatively good shape other than a little rust where the spindle base attaches. Two questions: When I rub my finger along the spindle on the spider I can feel several shallow "grooves" in a couple of areas. Do the grooves in the spindle indicate the spider needs to be replaced? Also, where the base of the spindle attaches there is about 1/2" that seems to be pretty rough. Is that rough area normal on the base of the spindle? I am not sure if that rough area at the base of the spindle actually inserts into the bearings.
Answer FiredawgSA, If you are feeling grooves in the shaft of the spider is normal and for the rough parts at the base, If it is about 1/2" it should not cause any issues with the unit. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, September 13, 2018
