David for Model Number tromm wm2487hwm The washer works fine. It started making a loud hum like an electric motor would make if it was hung up. It's not. I took the top cover off and ran a load to see if I could see are smell anything. Nothing. Is it possible the stator would make this noise or is it more likely the motor itself. It only makes the noise when in motion. I feel confident I can repair if I knew exactly what it is. Thank you.
Answer Hello David, using a multimeter check the ohms of the motor stator coils, about 5-15 ohms on each coil, terminals 1-2,2-3,1-3, next check the wire harness stator to main board, if ok the main controls power the motor, the main board 6871ER1062G is no longer available.
