Rick Nathan for Model Number WM2487HRMA I'm working on replacing the bearing on my new to me LG washer. I have a couple questions. The stator is covered in black dust. It worked, so I'm hoping to be able to clean it up and use it. How can I clean it? Would some CRC electronics cleaner work? Also, the drum spindle is stuck in the bearing. I've soaked it with liquid wrench and hit it with a mallet and a 2x4 and, so far it won't budge. Any suggestions? I need to get that apart so that I can order the needed parts.
Answer Rick, As far as cleaning the stator, yes an electronics cleaner would be best to clean it. As for the inner drum removal. Prop the outer drum up on blocks where the inner drum is suspended about an inch off the ground. Youw ill need to use a 2 x 4 and a small sledge and try to dislodge the shaft from the bearing.
