Kazper for Model Number LG dishwasher ldf6920st There are a couple things going on with my dishwasher. First, the top rack of dishes only cleans some items. Many times there is residue left on the dishes. I rinsed all of the arms (twice) and cleaned out gunk that was in the sump assembly area. The problem continued. One repair person mentioned that our water might not be hot enough. We always run it for a few minutes until it is hot before starting the cycle. The other thing is that the washer makes a rather loud grinding noise during the cycle. It seems to come on roughly 5 minutes after it has started and continues until the end of the cycle. I am wondering if this suggests a new sump assembly is needed and if you believe that would solve both problems.
Answer Kazper, Based on the description, the issue sounds like it may be a bad diverter motor which turns the check valve and switches the water from lower to upper. The part number for this will be 4681ED3001D Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Monday, March 3, 2014
