Pat S. for Model Number LFX25971ST Water squirting out of the back of the refrigerator at the top where the water line enters. Tightened fitting, no help, still leaks. Replaced fitting where water enters. Still leaks. Replaced filter, still leaks. Trimmed vinyl hose where it enters fitting about 1/2", but still leaks. Any ideas? Maybe the water valve? Seems like I am getting some water inside the freezer on the bottom of the freezer but that may have been when I unhooked the vinyl supply line in the back so it drained out the front water dispenser? Thanks
Answer Hello Pat, The fitting you have described is not designed to hold water pressure but is designed to redirect the flow of water. When water leaks at this fitting it indicates that the fill tube has frozen up[ and needs to be thawed out from the inside with a hairdryer set to a medium setting. This is caused by a bad water inlet valve MJX41178908. If you have replaced this water inlet valve, the cause has been corrected but the fill tube into the icemaker still needs to be thawed out to complete the repair. Read More...
