Jeffrey for Model Number RS261MDBP /XAA What would make it hard to insert and turn the filter? Water is off and line is drained. Samsung warns against hard water deposits but that is no issue here. I'm suspecting the filter housing, but I don't see what could have failed. Should the ice maker fill with the filter removed? I've removed the filter and the door still dispenses water but the ice maker does not fill.
Answer Hello Jeffery, You will need to verify that the fill tube is not frozen. This is hard to tell by sight since the ice tends to be clear. Use a straw or similar item to "feel" inside the fill tube. If it is frozen, it can be thawed with a hair dryer in about 15 minutes. If not, I would replace the filter head DA81-05884A since it sounds like the internal valve inside this component sounds like an issue. Read More...
