Judy April 16, 2016 for Model Number RS261MDWP My water dispenser stopped working after I replaced the filter. I think I need a water filter housing unit. Can you tell me exactly what I need? Do instructions come with it? Is is difficult to replace this part?
1 Answer Hello Judy, You will need to order DA81-05884A. I'm sorry but there are no instructions in print on replacing this item. The hardest part of this replacement is pulling the unit out to access the rear of the unit. Read More...
Frank August 08, 2015 for Model Number RS261MDRS/XAA I recently started having issues with my water dispenser not working when a filter is installed as soon as I remove the filter water will dispense. I have disconnecting and reconnecting the lines removing and reinstalling the filter but the issue is still there. When the water filter is installed water will not dispense but when the filter is removed water will dispense any Idea what would cause this?
1 Answer Frank, This issue would most likely be caused by the pins in the filter housing that is not allowing the water to flow through the filter. You would want to replace the water filter housing DA81-05884A. Read More...
Jeffrey January 30, 2015 for Model Number RS261MDBP /XAA What would make it hard to insert and turn the filter? Water is off and line is drained. Samsung warns against hard water deposits but that is no issue here. I'm suspecting the filter housing, but I don't see what could have failed. Should the ice maker fill with the filter removed? I've removed the filter and the door still dispenses water but the ice maker does not fill.
1 Answer Hello Jeffery, You will need to verify that the fill tube is not frozen. This is hard to tell by sight since the ice tends to be clear. Use a straw or similar item to "feel" inside the fill tube. If it is frozen, it can be thawed with a hair dryer in about 15 minutes. If not, I would replace the filter head DA81-05884A since it sounds like the internal valve inside this component sounds like an issue. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Michael. It is all based on usage. If the filter is used a lot, you will need to replace it every 6 months. If not a lot, then yearly is fine. Read More...
