Ek for Model Number RSG257AARS-XAA Samsung refrigerator originally getting dripping water from ice shoot, due to ice build-up in shoot. Also getting frost build up in ice bucket. Although flapper was opening and closing thought it may be due to spring and flapper not having good seal. Tried sealing up bottom of ice bucket and top of ice shoot to see if sealing off area would solve problem and it initially worked but then got ice build up again in shoot and frost in ice bucket so I was uncertain if changing out just the flapper or entire ice assembly would help. Then an odd thing happened, and water started to randomly shoot out of the water dispenser and no one around. Luckily I caught it doing this, cleaned up the mess and put the child lock on to prohibit it from doing this. If I take it off child lock I can get water, but occasionally it just randomly turns on. I put on a new filter and purged the line because some people said that low pressure due to an old filter can cause issue, but it did not seem to solve the problem. I can have the child lock off for hours with no issues but because I am uncertain of the cause I put the child lock back on when I go to bed or leave house. I was uncertain if I changed out Ice Chute Assembly which supposedly has the flapper and a water and ice sensor (DA97-06473B) if it would solve all my issues or if its an electrical issue or problem with mother board. Called Samsung and they said they never heard of the problem and only a few people on the internet have reported a similar issue but no solutions. Any suggestion would be appreciated
Answer EK, Based on the information provided the ice build-up would be from an air leak, and the random dispensing could be from a pressure issue or a dispenser board issue. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Wednesday, November 8, 2023
