Michael for Model Number RF263AEBP/XAA Had small amount of ice showing on back of refrigerator, put hair dryer up to hole in back panel to see if air would flow through duct work and accidentally turned on heat instead of cool now it looks like the foam behind the plastic panel melted. Is the foam duct work replaceable or do I have to replace the whole assembly fan foam and plastic cover? Also, the reason I was looking in the first place is that the refrigerator didn't seem as cold as it should and there is a black soot like substance through out the refrigerator section.
Answer Hello Michael. You will need to replace the whole assembly. Also, check for a defrost issue inside the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
