Jim L for Model Number RF23HCEDBWW/AA-0000 I'm having recurring ice maker problems. On a regular basis, a large chunk of ice forms at the top of ice maker (comprised of ice cubes and run-off water). This blocks/stops the unit from making any new ice. We do not see the problem until the ice bin is empty. The remedy is to chip out the big chunk of ice at the top, chip off the ice that's formed on the bottom/rear of the ice maker (PN DA97-13718A) and then reset the unit. This works and the unit resumes making ice until it jams again (2 -3 weeks). Is replacing the ice maker assembly a reasonable start to a permanent repair? Thanks!
Answer Jim, This issue sounds like it would be that the unit is putting too much water into the icemaker and would most likely be a issue with the water valve trickling. If this is the case then the water valve would need replaced. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, February 23, 2018
